7 Ways to Have Fun With Your Laptop
Why write an article on having fun
with your laptop? Isn't it obvious what you can do
on the laptop? Well, I'm not so sure. Many folks I
know use their laptops for business or word processing.
In case you didn't know, there are a ton of things
you can do on that laptop that are both interesting
and fun. Let's check them out now.
1. A New GPS Device
Many folks do not realize they can
use their laptops for GPS. What you need is a GPS
device (doesn't cost much, it's just a small transmitter)
and install the accompanying software. Then you can
find out where you are anytime, anywhere! Neat stuff.
2. Play A Game
Laptops can be used for work as
well as? Gaming, of course. Many laptops these days
are souped up with the best graphics cards and processors,
beating even their traditional desktop gaming machines.

3. Make A Travel Album
If you're on the move and want to
update your friends and family abuot your exploits,
you should snap some photos with your phone or digital
camera, plonk those pics into the laptop, then share
em' online. That's the best way to let the world know
where you are and what you're doing.
4. Watch A Movie
Now, obviously this one is a no
brainer. However, I'd just want to point out the best
way to watch a movie on a laptop. Hook it up to a
widescreen TV (if it has a S-video or HDMI video output)
and enjoy a really cinematic experience.
5. Chat On The Internet
Want to know the most widely used
application on a laptop? I don't have the figures
or stats, but almost everyone sitting at Starbucks
with a laptop should be chatting across the Internet
in some way. Or someone plugging into a school, a
hotel or workplace should also be chatting on the
Internet. So very clearly, this has got to be one
'fun' thing you can do.
6. Do An Urgent Online Transaction
I gotta say this one has saved me
many times. I can't say an urgent online transaction
is 'fun', but I thought I'd mention this one anyway.
If you forget to pay your credit card bill, or book
movie tickets, a laptop is a life saver! Just log
on to a wireless hotspot and do the transaction. In
the old days, you'd have to hope someone you know
was at home on the desktop and could do the same for
you. Now that's history with your laptop with you
all the time.
7. Educate The Kids
Laptops are perfect for entertaining
young kids. You can bring the machine around and follow
the kid! Just browse to a flash-based game website,
and play the game with your child. If he gets bored
and runs away, pick up the laptop and follow him!
You can't do that with a desktop.
